Welcome to the 2025 summer edition of the site! This the site's 23rd summer, and the theme is "Things Aren't Always Black and White: Nature in a Different Light." For a little more than a year I have been learning about and getting started with infrared photography. All the main photos this year are infrared photos taken at several SoCal botanical gardens. The theme and more about photography capturing infrared light (and how the images are different from regular black and white photos) will be explained on the "News" and "About the Site" pages. The image above was taken at the LA County Arboretum in Arcadia. Others were taken at the arboretum at California State University Fullerton and the Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens. FINAL DAY OF THE SUMMER EDITION OF THE SITE WILL BE SEPTEMBER 30! FALL/WINTER/SPRING EDITION OF THE SITE RETURNS IN OCTOBER.
