It is recommended that you confirm any performance you wish to attend. Concerts on this page are listed by all cities together. In the fall/winter/spring there are no separate county pages, and only cities hosting events during the month are included. The Alhambra Performing Arts Center, under the direction of chef/artistic director Bill Yee, will present The South Pasadena Transit Authority. The 9-person group performs the top hits of the Grammy-Award winning jazz/rock band Chicago. The program will take place at 7 p.m. in the Sage Granada Park United Methodist Church, 1850 W. April 12 - Second Saturdays at the Altadena Library. Blue Breeze Band (Motown/R&B/Soul/Funk). Programs take place from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Altadena Main Library, 600 E. Mariposa. The concerts will be taking place in the library on the main floor. A reservation is required for the event and can be made via the library website events page. Weekly, Thursdays - Downtown Anaheim Farmers Market. Farmers Market hours are 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Entertainment times vary. Check website for weekly schedules. Performances at The Packing House - Weekly performances at the Packing House on the mezzanine stage vary. The Packing House weekly performances take place on Friday and Saturday (except where otherwise noted). When multiple acts are noted on Saturday nights, generally one act is on the mezzanine stage at the Packing House and the other(s) are at the Unsung Brewery in the MAKE Building and/or at the Anaheim Brewery. April 26 and 27 - AFM Local 47 Third Annual Jazz Festival. April is Jazz Appreciation Month, and to celebrate AFM Local 47 is presenting their third annual Jazz Festival. The two-day series celebrates AFM Local 47 Life Members and will take place from 1 - 7 p.m. on Saturday and 1 - 6 p.m. on Sunday in the Captain Greg Welch Gathering Place at AFM Local 47, 3220 Winona Avenue. April 26 - Cerritos Spring Fling and Fireworks Spectacular. April 19 - Corona Music and Arts Festival. The Corona Spring Music and Arts Festival and Corona Art Association Spring Arts and Crafts Fair will take place from 1 - 8 p.m. at the Corona Historic Civic Center, 815 W. 6th Street. There will be live music performances, a beer and wine garden, art installations, interactive workshops and a marketplace of local artisans. Performances will include Lucero Ballet Folklorico, Collage of Color, Christian Arts Theater, No Signal, Rusty Perez, Kismetic, J. Blades, Blue Henrys and Stone Soul. April 16, 23 and 30 - Unwind Wednesdays at The CAMP. Unwind Wednesdays at The CAMP feature live music by local artists from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. in The CAMP courtyard. This month's artists will be: April 16 - Chelsey Sanchez, April 23 - Emily Laliotis and April 30 - The Lemonsharks. Segerstrom Center the Arts/Argyros Plaza Events. The Segerstrom Center for the Arts will present a variety of programs outdoors in the Argyros Plaza. April 5 - Grand Performances Programs. Cuban Block Party with Changui Majadero. Experience a Cuban block party at the Culver City Steps with the rhythms of Changui Majadero (Afro-Cuban changui) and DJ Anthony Valadez. April 6 - Culver City Symphony The Culver City Symphony, led by conductor Clyde Mitchell, will present a special concert celebrating the orchestra's 60th Anniversary. The concert will take place at 7 p.m. in the Robert Frost Auditorium, 4401 Elenda Street, with open seating and no tickets required. The program will include: Corelli: Suite for Strings (the piece which opened the symphony's first concert in 1965), William Grant Still: Danzas de Panama, Beresowsky: Dream Grotto, and Brahms: Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 73. April 5 - Downey Unified's Mariachi Music Festival The Downey Unified School District will present the Mariachi Music Festival from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Downey High School Allen Layne Stadium, 11040 Brookshire Avenue. The festival will feature live performances from middle school through college mariachi groups from across Southern California as well as folklorico dancers from the Downey Unified School District. May 3 - El Segundo Hometown Fair and Carnival. The annual Hometown Fair and Carnival will take place from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on the 600 block of North Main Street and at Library Park (Main/Mariposa). April 26 - OC Dia Del Nino Celebration. - The OC Dia del Nino (Day of the Child) Festival will take place from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Hunt Branch Library and Event Center, 201 S. Basque Avenue. The annual festival of arts for children and families will include youth music and dance performances, resource booths and free arts workshops. Information: www.ocdiadelnino.org. Fullerton Farmers Market - The Fullerton Farmers Market season returns with live music from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. The market is on Wilshire Avenue between Pomona and Harbor Boulevard. April 2 and 16 - "Music at Noon" Concerts. The free half-hour concerts take place from 12:10 p.m. to 12:40 p.m. at Glendale City Church, 610 E. California Avenue. April 11, 12 and 13 - Hawaiian Gardens 61st Anniversary Carnival. The Carnival will take place Friday from 5 - 10 p.m., Saturday from 2 - 10 p.m. and Sunday from 2 - 10 p.m. at the Furgeson Elementary School Complex, 21409 Elaine Avenue. There will be carnival rides, games and vendors (fee), plus entertainment. Entertainment and admission are free. Entertainment schedule and shuttle information is available on the event website. April 6 - CicLAvia: Koreatown Meets Hollywood. CicLAvia: Koreatown Meets Hollywood is 4.75 miles of open streets for skating, walking, biking, etc. from Wilshire Boulevard in Koreatown, along Western and Santa Monica Avenues to Hollywood and Vine. The event will take place from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and there will be four hub locations with entertainment, information booths, water stations, basic bike repair, health and wellness booths and more. Ongoing, Tuesday Nights - Surf City Nights. Surf City Nights, Orange County's largest weekly street fair and farmers market, takes place weekly from 5 - 9 p.m. throughout the year. The event includes over 100 vendors, family-friendly/live music street performances, and activities for children. Outdoor Music at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Outdoor music returns to the Rock Yard at Fantasy Springs on Friday and Saturday nights from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. Guests must be 18 or over. The Rock Yard is an amphitheater-style arena with two side-by-side stages, and admission is free. Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is located at 84-245 Indio Springs Parkway. April 19 - Jazz in the Palm Court. In support of the exhibit "More Than You Can Chew," the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex will present a three-part live jazz music series inspired by a diverse range of composers and musicians. May 2, 3 and 4 - La Habra Citrus Fair. The event will take place on Friday from 5 - 11 p.m., Saturday from 1 p.m. - 11 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m. on La Habra Boulevard between Euclid and Cypress Streets and the La Habra Civic Center area. April 28 - Global Harmony Symphony. The Global Harmony Symphony, with music director Maestra Valerie Geller, will present their spring concert at 7 p.m. at the Laguna Hills Community Center, 25555 Alicia Parkway. April 10 - Thunder Thursday at the Pike Outlets. Thunder Thursday, the public festival that kicks off the Toyota Grand Prix, will take place from 6 - 10:30 p.m. at The Pike Outlets, 95 S. March 28 - Music Center Dance DTLA: Special Edition. The special edition of the Dance DTLA programs will take place from 7 - 10 p.m. in the Walt Disney Concert Hall BP Hall and Blue Ribbon Garden. There will be dancing to live music and DJs and follow-along beginner lessons. The Special Edition program highlights LA's strength, unity and resilience and will be a space for everyone to rebuild connections and enjoy moments of joy and renewal. In Lak Ech of Mujeres de Maiz and Tonantzin. In Lak Ech is an LA-based Xicana collective uniting to tell Her-story through poetry, drumming and song. The women of the collective will share that poetry, drumming and song in the Louis Verdad: TONANTZIN installation. The session is inspired by Tonantzin, a Mesoamerican goddess also known as Mama Tierra. The program will take place at 2 p.m. at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, 501 North Main Street. Legacies: USC is an original song cycle made collaboratively by a multigenerational coalition of established and emerging composers from the USC Thornton School of Music. Loosely based on their legacies, the special concert will feature songs by composers Andrew Norman, Ted Hearne, Rohan Chander and Anuj Bhutani, as well as current USC students in composition, poetry and vocal arts. The program will take place from 7 - 8:30 p.m.in the USC Brain and Creativity Institute's Joyce J. Cammilleri Hall, and it will be followed by a conversation with the creators and musicians. Film screening and performance - Far East Deep South. The event will include a free screening of the award winning documemntary Far East Deep South. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director and singer-songwriter Larissa Lam, producer and rapper Baldwin Chiu (aka Only Won), and Emmy Award-winning music composer Nathan Wang, plus a special live musical performance by Larissa Lam and Only Won. April 26 and 27 - Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is a two-day celebration of the written word and a major literary event. The Festival (lectures, panel discussions, performances, booths, demonstrations, displays, etc.) is free to the public and will take place on the USC campus (though there are some ticketed events as well). Saturday hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Each year one of the stages includes musical performances. The Los Angeles Times pull-out section with complete information and event listings is usually included in the Los Angeles Times on the Sunday prior to the event.
