January 24 - Alhambra Performing Arts Center Programs. The Alhambra Performing Arts Center, under the direction of chef/artistic director Bill Yee, will present Eva and the Vagabond Tales. The band performs vintage-inspired indie folk with a gypsy swing twist. The program will take place at 7 p.m. in the Sage Granada Park United Methodist Church, 1850 W. Hellman Drive. February 7 - Orange County Black History Parade and Unity Festival. The 2026 Orange County Black History Parade and Unity Festival will take place from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Downtown Anaheim at the Center Street Promenade. The parade will take place from 10 a.m. - noon, with a pre-parade show at 9 a.m., and the cultural faire will continue after the parade until 4 p.m. The faire will include food and product vendors, information booths, a health village, youth village, college village and ongoing live entertainment. Performances at The Packing House - Weekly performances at the Packing House on the mezzanine stage vary. The Packing House weekly performances take place on Friday and Saturday (except where otherwise noted). When multiple acts are noted on Saturday nights, generally one act is on the mezzanine stage at the Packing House and the other(s) are at the Unsung Brewery in the MAKE Building and/or at the Anaheim Brewery. January 9 - Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., "The Time is Always Right to do What is Right," will take place at 6 p.m. at the Carson Event Center, 801 East Carson Street. January 19 - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Ceremony. The ceremony celebrating American civil rights leader and 1964 Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will take place at 10 a.m. in the main theater at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, 18000 Park Plaza Drive. The event will include comments by City Council members and musical and spoken word performances. Guests are encouraged to bring a canned good to donate to a local food pantry. January 31 and February 1 - 1st Annual Chino Lunar Festival. The first annual Chino Lunar Festival will take place at the Chino City Hall lawn, 13220 Central Avenue. The festival will take place from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Sunday and will include an artisan marketplace, activities for children, food vendors and a variety of cultural arts performances and demonstrations. Performances at the Shoppes at Chino Hills. The Shoppes at Chino Hills will present a variety of performances throughout the year. See individual concert dates for performance start times. January 24 and January 31 - Claremont Symphony Orchestra. Music director and conductor Robert Sage. On January 24, Claremont Youth Symphony Orchestras will present their winter concert. On January 31, Concert for Young People, featuring the winners of the CYSO Concerto Competition, conducted by Matthew Keating. The program for this concert will include music by Hayden and Beethoven and from Frozen and Wicked. Segerstrom Center the Arts/Argyros Plaza Events. The Segerstrom Center for the Arts will present a variety of programs outdoors in the Argyros Plaza. January 17 - MLK Day Celebration/King Day Program. The Culver City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at a program from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park Auditorium, 4117 Overland Avenue. January 25 - Culver City Symphony. The Culver City Symphony, Clyde Mitchell, music director and conductor, with violin soloist Esme Arias-Kim, will present a concert at 4 p.m. in the Robert Frost Auditorium, 4401 Elenda Street. January 17 - 43rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Parade and Celebration. Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the commemorative parade and celebration. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Serra High School (14830 Van Ness Avenue) and travel on Van Ness Avenue to Rowley Park, 13220 S. Van Ness Avenue. Following the parade, the celebration at Rowley Park will continue until 3 p.m. with entertainment, a battle of the bands, food trucks, resource booths, food and merchandise vendors and more. January 7 and 21 - "Music at Noon" Concerts. The free half-hour concerts take place from 12:10 p.m. to 12:40 p.m. at Glendale City Church, 610 E. California Avenue. Ongoing, Tuesday Nights - Surf City Nights. Surf City Nights, Orange County's largest weekly street fair and farmers market, takes place weekly from 5 - 9 p.m. throughout the year. The event includes over 100 vendors, family-friendly/live music street performances, and activities for children. January 25 - Jazz in the Palm Court. The Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex will present a three-part live jazz music series: Jazz in the Palm Court. Inspired by a diverse range of composers and musicians, the concerts will feature a wide stylistic spectrum of jazz music, from the soulful sounds of blues and swing to the bold innovations of bebop and contemporary jazz. Concerts will take place from 1 - 3 p.m. in the Palm Court. Reservations/registration is not required, and bring blankets and/or folding chairs for seating. January 11 - La Mirada Symphony. "An Afternoon of Chamber Music." Chamber music will be presented by small musical groups in an intimate setting. The program will include music by Brahms and Piazzola, plus a Fiddler on the Roof medley. The concert will take place at 3 p.m. at the La Mirada Theater, 14900 La Mirada Boulevard. Noon Concerts at Biola University. This long-standing, mid-day concert series tradition presents guest artists and university faculty and students. La Puente Live. La Puente Live is an open-air market in downtown La Puente on Main Street. January 17 - 38th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and Celebration. The Martin Luther King Jr. Parade takes place along Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue from Anaheim Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 1950 Lemon Avenue. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Following the parade from noon - 5 p.m. there is a festival at the park including a main stage with live entertainment, a kids' area, food and merchandise vendors and more. January 1 - Little Tokyo New Year's Oshogatsu Festival. The Japanese Chamber of Commerce will present the New Year's Oshogatsu Festival from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Weller Court, 123 Astrounaut E S Onizuka Street, and with additional activities and performances in the Japanese Village Plaza, 335 E. 2nd Street, from 12:30 - 4:15 p.m. There will be Taiko Drumming, martial arts demonstrations, mochi making and more. January 19 - Los Angeles Official Martin Luther King Day Parade. This year Bakewell Media and the Los Angeles Sentinel will organize LA's official MLK Jr. Day Parade. The parade will feature floats, marching bands, faith-based and community organiztions, local and national leader, youth groups, entertainers and families. Grand Marshal will be Cedric the Entertainer. The parade will kick off at 10 a.m. at Western and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Information: www.mlkparadela.org.
January 17 - Skirball Cultural Center Programs. Martin Luther King Jr. Day concert featuring the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles. The Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles is the largest Black majority orchestra in the nation. During the program, over one hundred musicians and choir singers will raise their instruments and voices in song to honor the memory of MLK's commitment to delivering civil rights for Black America. The City of Monterey Park and event producer World Journal will present the 2026 Lunar New Year Festival celebrating the Year of the Horse from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Sunday on Garvey Avenue between Garfield and Alhambra Avenue. January 26 - Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band. "Disney Magic." January 11 - St. John's Concert Series. Organ Concert with guest organist Katrina Liao. The concert will include the music of Vierne, Messiaen, Decker and others. January 25 - South Bay Chamber Music Society Concerts. January 1 - 137th Annual Rose Parade. The 137th Annual Rose Parade will kick off today at 8 a.m. along Orange Grove and Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. This year's theme is "The Magic in Teamwork." The fifth annual celebration of the Silk Road is inspired by the diverse cultures connected through the ancient trade route. January 17 and 18 - 2026 Rancho Cucamonga Lunar Festival. The fourth annual Rancho Cucamonga Lunar Festival celebrating the Year of the Horse will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. at the RC Sports Center, 8303 Rochester Avenue. The event will include food vendors, a marketplace with local and regional artisans selling traditional and modern goods, local artists, a fun zone for children, cultural performances and more. January 18 - Island Marketplace at the Slack Key Festival. The 19th annual Slack Key Festival (ticketed events) will feature an outdoor Island Marketplace which will be open to the public. The marketplace will be open from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. and will include island-themed gifts and apparel, Hawaiian food and outdoor entertainment. The Symphony continues its season with conductor and music director Arlette Cardenes. The Olympia Philharmonic Society, with music director and conductor Fung Ho, will present a free community concert, Hula Vivaldi, at 3 p.m. at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse, 320 South Mission Drive. The concert will feature the Olympia Youth Orchestra and piccolo soloist Dr. Deborah H. How, who will perform Vivaldi's Piccolo Concerto while hula hooping. January 4 - Family Festivals at the Bowers Museum. This month's festival will be a Festival of India. The event will take place from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the museum courtyard and will include music and dance performances and a variety of art activities. There also will be a 1:30 p.m. audio/visual program in the Norma Kershaw Auditorium titled Sadubas and celebrating Bollywood. The Bowers Museum is located at 2002 N. Main Street. The annual community festival, hosted on the campus of the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA), offers arts-minded children a full day of play. The festival is designed to be an inclusive event celebrating all cultures and accessible to those with disabilities. January 17 - Santa Monica Symphony. The Santa Monica Symphony, with conductor Gary Pratt and guest artists, will commemorate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with its annual MLK concert. Guest artists will be the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, conducted by Charles Dickerson. The program will include music by Gary Pratt, William Grant Still, Aaron Copland, and others, plus the Traditional "We Shall Overcome."
