In the fall/winter/spring there are no separate county pages, and only cities hosting events during the month are included. ALHAMBRA

May 10 - Alhambra Performing Arts Center Programs. The Alhambra Performing Arts Center, under the direction of chef/artistic director Bill Yee, will present Saeko Kujiraoka Koto Players with dancer Shiho Tendou. Saeko performs both traditional Japanese music and reveals new perspectives on the sound of Koto through her arrangements of pop and jazz standards. The program will take place at 7 p.m. in the Sage Granada Park United Methodist Church, 1850 W. Hellman Drive. Seating is limited and on a first-come basis. ALTADENA

May 10 - Second Saturdays at the Altadena Library. Upstream (Reggae/Caribbean/Soca). Programs take place from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. outdoors at the Altadena Main Library, 600 E. Mariposa. Bring seating. ANAHEIM AND ANAHEIM HILLS

May 3 - Anaheim Cinco De Mayo Celebration. Due to construction at La Palma Park, this year's Cinco de Mayo celebration will be a one-day event from 3 - 9 p.m. at Center Greens Park, 305 E. Broadway. The event will include food and merchandise vendors, entertainment, community booths and a kids zone. Information: www.anaheim.net.

May 16, 17 and 18 - Bloom and Blossom Market at Anaheim Gardenwalk. Celebrate mothers this second week of the market with live music, free crafts for kids, small business info, photo ops and a flower workshop (while supplies last). Events will take place Friday from 5 - 10 p.m., Saturday from 2 - 10 p.m. and Sunday from 2 - 9 p.m. at Anaheim Gardenwalk, 400 West Disney Way. May 17 - Anaheim Children's Festival. The 2025 Anaheim Children's Festival will take place from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Pearson Park, Lemon Street/Sycamore Avenue. The festival offers families and people of all ages the opportunity to enjoy exploring and making art together. There will be various information and activity booths, art projects, and musical/performing groups, and all activities are free to participants. Performances at The Packing House - Weekly performances at the Packing House on the mezzanine stage vary. The Packing House weekly performances take place on Friday and Saturday (except where otherwise noted). When multiple acts are noted on Saturday nights, generally one act is on the mezzanine stage at the Packing House and the other(s) are at the Unsung Brewery in the MAKE Building and/or at the Anaheim Brewery. BEVERLY HILLS

May 5 and 6 - Musical Theatre Fest 2025 at The Wallis The ASCAP Foundation will present the Musical Theatre Fest hosted by legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz over two nights. Monday's program is Songs from the Cutting Room Floor, and it will take place at 7:30 p.m. (networking hour begins at 5:30 p.m.). Tuesday will be the ASCAP Foudation Musical Theater Workshops at 7 p.m. Programs are free but separate reservations must be made for both. May 17 and 18 - Beverly Hills Art Show. The event takes place from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. both days. Nearly 250 artists exhibit their works outdoors in Beverly Hills in the grassy area of Beverly Gardens Park along Santa Monica Boulevard between Rodeo and Rexford Drives. BREA

May 16, 17 and 18 - Brea Bonanza Days Country Music Festival The Brea Bonanza Days Country Music Festival will feature live music, a beer and wine garden, arts and crafts and a kids zone. The event hours are 5:30 - 10 p.m. on Friday, noon - 10 p.m. on Saturday and noon - 7 p.m. on Sunday. Entertainment line-up TBA. There also will be DJs, a kids zone, line dance lessons and more. Admission is free and some seating is provided; seats in a reserved VIP area are available for purchase. May 28 and 29 - Performances at the Cerritos Public Library. On May 28 at 7 p.m., Violin and Piano Spring Concert. Violinist Paul Stein, a member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic for 36 years, and pianist Michele Do will perform a duet of classical pieces. On May 29 at 7 p.m., Classical Guitar Concert with guitarist Michael Nigro. He will perform music by composers from Spain, Mexico, Argentina and Venezuela.   • May 5 - Pomona College: Giri Kusuma, I Nyoman Wenten, music director, and Nanik Wenten, dance director. Pomona College's Balinese gamelan will celebrate 50 years of the Wentens teaching Indonesian music and dance in California. The program will take place at 8 p.m. in Bridges Hall of Music, 150 E. Claremont Friday Nights Live - The Friday night concert series takes place through October at locations in Claremont Village. Regular performances are from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Village Square (VS), 101 North Indian Hill Boulevard, the Claremont Chamber of Commerce (CC), 205 Yale Avenue (at Second Street) and Shelton Park (SP, Bonita/Harvard). May 18 - Pacific Symphony Youth Ensemble Concerts. Two performances.   • May 24 - Groove and Gather: AANHPI Dance Fest. From traditional performances to contemporary expressions, see the showcase of the diversity and artistry of the AANHPI communities. Explore folk tales, find mindful moments, experience the magic of classical music and dance to the rhythms of the Pacific. The event will take place from noon - 3 p.m. on the Argyros Plaza and admission is free with the SCFTA digital Plaza Pass.

  • May 31 - Beckman Arts and Science Family Festival from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The 4th annual festival invites innovators of all ages to explore the connections between science and the arts through performances, interactive exhibits and hands-on activities. There also will be performances by Journeys to the Past (Native American Family Ensemble), The Alley Cats (50s/60s Doo Wop), N8tive Hoop hoop dancers, and Music Notes LLC, former LAUSD teachers who engage students in STEM concepts through hip hop music. The program will take place on the Argyros Plaza.

CULVER CITY

May 10 - Culver City Car Show The 2025 Culver City Car Show will take place from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on the streets of Downtown Culver City (Culver Bouelvard, Washington Boulevard and Main Street). May 17 - Skateside Fest. Skateside Fest is a family-friendly community celebration marking 10 years of The Skateside and its impact. There will be a skate park zone, roller skate zone, roller skate dance jam, rental equipment available, a family fun zone, vendor marketplace, live DJs and special live music appearances, and more. May 26 - Memorial Day Ceremony. The City of Dana Point invites the public to a ceremony honoring fallen veterans. The program is presented by the Dana Point VFW Post 9934 and the City of Dana Point. EL SEGUNDO

May 3 - El Segundo Hometown Fair and Carnival. The annual Hometown Fair and Carnival will take place from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on the 600 block of North Main Street and at Library Park (Main/Mariposa). FONTANA

May 2 - Fontana Car Show. This non-cruise event takes place on the first Friday of the month from 5 - 9 p.m. on Spring Street between Juniper Avenue and Sierra Avenue. The event includes pre-1979 classics, hot rods and muscle cars, imports and customs, low riders, specialty/exotics and motorcycles. May 3 - Fontana Days Parade. The Fontana Days Parade theme for 2025 is "Dancing in the Street." The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Arrow Boulevard and Sierra Avenue, continue south on Sierra to Orange Way, north on Mango to Arrow and will end at Miller Park. May 3 - Jazz at the Mary Vagle Nature Center The City of Fontana Community Services Department will present an evening of jazz from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Mary Vagle Nature Center, located in the Martin Tudor Jurupa Hills Regional Park, 11501 Cypress Ave E. There will be performances by the Jurupa Hills Jazz Ensemble and The Voice season 18 contestant Roderick Chambers, plus activities for children and photo opportunities.
