September 18 - Performances at the Cerritos Public Library. "The Art of Dance: Movement and History." The evening event will celebrate street dance, music and cultural storytelling. August 30 - 6th Annual Leimert Park Jazz Festival. The 4th Annual Leimert Park Jazz Festival will take place from 12:30 - 8:30 p.m. (doors open at 11:30 a.m.) on the rooftop parking deck at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, 3650 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. General admission is free. This year the festival will include performances by The Dee Dee Bridgewater Quartet, Sasha Berliner, Dayren Santana and Made in Cuba, The World Stage Big Band and The Melanin Horns. The Celebration is a festival of trans artistry inspired by the landmark 2004 concept album from Red Hot Organization.
